Padua

Padua (Padova) is a historic city in north-eastern Italy with over two millennia of history, known for its rich artistic, cultural, and architectural heritage as well as for its vibrant contemporary life. The city centre is characterised by elegant medieval and Renaissance squares, arcaded streets, and landmark sites such as the Basilica of Saint Anthony, Prato della Valle—one of the largest public squares in Europe—and a dense network of museums, theatres, and cultural institutions. Padua offers a distinctive balance between historical depth and a lively urban atmosphere, shaped by a strong tradition of civic life, culture, and public spaces.

Padua is also a modern, well-organised city with a compact and walkable layout, an efficient public transport system, and a wide range of cafés, restaurants, and social venues that encourage informal interaction. Its human scale and welcoming character make it particularly suitable for hosting scientific meetings, facilitating discussion, networking, and engagement beyond the formal programme.

Venice

Padua is located only a short distance from Venice, which can be reached in approximately 30 minutes by train, making it easy to combine participation in the congress with the exploration of one of the world’s most renowned cities. Venice offers an unparalleled cultural heritage, with iconic landmarks such as St Mark’s Square and Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Grand Canal, and a dense network of museums, churches, and historic neighbourhoods. This close proximity provides participants with a valuable opportunity to experience Venice’s artistic, architectural, and cultural richness either before or after the congress.

Veneto

Padua is located in the Veneto region, one of Italy’s most dynamic areas from a cultural, economic, and logistical perspective. Veneto combines a strong tradition in craftsmanship, industry, and research with an exceptional cultural and natural heritage, including world-renowned destinations such as Venice and Verona, as well as landscapes ranging from the Adriatic coast to the Dolomite mountains. Excellent transport connections and the region’s openness to international exchange make Padua and Veneto an attractive location.
